Zombie survival. For some strange reason most boys grow up with the fantasy and dread of a zombie invasion. Mentally preparing and planning for this fantastical event, much the same way young girls plan their wedding.
We never even say that a zombie apocalypse will never happen and is completely scientifically impossible, as it is like a child admitting to the non-existence of Santa, but in this case we would not get gifts but be eaten.

So for many of us we have this rich romanticism of a zombie apocalypse and how we would survive it and not make the same stupid mistakes everyone makes in the movies.
So that brings me to Zafehouse, a little indy developed ‘game a week’ project from Logan Brooker Editor for Kotaku Australia.

The project is very simple, all played in a window with text. The idea is you have to help a group of ’survivors’ survive a zombocolypse, by finding supplies, weapons, other survivors and fortifying buildings. You have 72 hours to make it and the zombie threat gets progressively more intense as time goes on.
It is simple in theory but the issue of limited ammunition, building supplies and water really plays a large part towards the end. Zafehouse is surprisingly deep and full of potential. I think the players imagination fueled by the zombie infatuation is one of the main reasons. It has a score system depending on how well you survived (if you do) and has awesome replayability. So check it out! It’s a bit overwhelming and confusing to begin with, with dense instructions that need a browse, but its worth it. SO go survive!
