I have been toying around with the Political Machine 08 and my conclusion is… that I have no idea how the American democratic system works. The game itself is great and quirky; using bobble heads for characters and has menus set up like voting slips. My issue is I just don’t know what I’m trying to achieve, having no idea how to win votes. It’s like trying to bowl without knowing that you are aiming for the pins. I’m sure if I spent some time to figure out the rules I would also gain a valuable understanding of the American election process and maybe even learn some of the BILLION states. Though this game is obviously made for Americans and not for us ‘Queen loving’ commonwealth countries. I might give it some more time to figure out how the game works, but for now I just can’t for the life of me figure out why my candidate ‘Osama Bin Hitler’ has no success.
Americans hate the colour red (communism). Maybe if he was blue….
